Bearing the torch
The volunteer spirit
We are the Volunteers: selfless leaders who light the way toward a better future through community engagement, research, and innovative thinking. The Volunteer spirit shines through our students who are using their unique talents to make life and lives better for their communities near and far.
A selfless act
“Six weeks compared to the rest of his life was miniscule,” Lady Vol swimmer Margaret Marando (’25) said after taking a break from competition to donate bone marrow to a four-year-old boy with leukemia.
A role model
“My decision to go into community health education really came from the idea of wanting to teach people about health and wellness,” Lady Vol volleyball player Morghan Fingall said. “I want to be able to reach communities on a personal level.”
